Sunil Chhetri Launches Football Coaching Academy For Children In Kerala’s Kannur

Keralites are extremely passionate about football. The football culture in the state is so strong that you’ll even find fan clubs and associations that promote the game strongly. With the 2022 FIFA World Cup nearing, the football fever is up and high in Kerala. Who hasn’t seen the giant cutouts of Neymar, Mesi, and Ronaldo on a river? In light of our love for the game, the Indian captain, Sunil Chhetri, and his friends from Kerala launched a football coaching academy in Kannur.

The recently launched F13 Football Academy at Kadirur, which is eight km from Thalassery in the Kannur district, is mainly focused on training children. The best part about their coaching program is that 66 children from the tribal communities will be able to receive free training. The F13 foundation will take care of all the expenses incurred.

The launch of the academy has garnered the support of footballers Vineeth, Mohammed Rafi, Rino Anto, N P Pradeep, and volleyball player Tom Joseph.

Kadirur Service Cooperative Bank has come in support of the academy by being the first sponsor in Kannur. The team of F13 Football Academy has plans to expand across all 14 districts of Kerala. They have 70 football coaching academies in mind, with at least five in each district. F13 Football Academy plans to launch in Mavelikkara and Thirunelly in the coming months.

This football coaching academy is a great initiative to strengthen the football culture in Kerala.
