Kerala Ranks Number One In Public Affairs Index 2021

We’ve just got to know that the state of Kerala has topped the 2021 Public Affairs Index. The PFA ranks states and union territories based on three factors: Equity, Growth and Sustainability. These three pillars are overlooked along the lines of 5 themes, 14 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 43 indicators.

The report was released by the Public Affairs Centre, a not-for-profit think tank, in Bengaluru. Kerala even topped last year’s index for its great economic and social transition.

Three Southern states, Kerala (1.618), Tamil Nadu (0.857), and Telangana (0.891) have garnered the top three positions for their steller governance performance. The toppers among small states are Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. Whereas the top union territories with the best governance are Puducherry, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chandigarh.

The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, took to Twitter to talk about this great achievement. He enthusiastically shared, “Kerala has been ranked as the best-governed state in the Public Affairs Index (PAI) 2021 released by the Public Affairs Centre. We are ranked among the top 3 States in all major pillars analysed in the index including equity, growth and sustainability.”
