How One Kerala-Based Agency Used AI Hype to Pull Off the Perfect April Fool’s Prank

I’ve been following Blusteak Media’s growth for a while now. They’ve always struck me as one of those inspiring agencies that could very well become the next big creative powerhouse, right out of Kottayam. So when they dropped an AI tool called Blu AI a couple of days ago (read, March 31st), I was like, “Dooode, that’s amazing!”

The AI tool had a sleek chatbot-style AI that could whip up branded social media posts just by entering your brand name and Insta handle. Felt like the future had officially landed, which I believed would make my work damn easier.

But turns out, it was an April Fool’s prank.
And boy, did they fool me hard.

The whole thing was brilliantly done. Disguised as a legit LLM-powered platform, Blu AI asks for your brand details, the occasion you’re planning for, and even fakes a loading screen that pretends it’s crawling your website and analyzing your Instagram posts. For a second, I was convinced I was about to see my very own AI-generated creative masterpiece.

Then, just when you thought your creatives were about to be delivered, it dropped the bomb:

“Oops. Looks like Blu AI just generated… a prank.”

I couldn’t even be mad. I had to laugh.

In a world where every second company is trying to jump on the AI bandwagon, Blusteak decided to poke fun at the trend with a clever twist. As co-founder Jaison Thomas put it, “Everyone’s trying to build the next ChatGPT. So we thought… what if we fake one that makes brand creatives instead—and prank people with it?”

According to Jaison, the whole thing was born from a simple observation, and it worked like a charm.

Social media lit up with reactions. People shared screenshots, laughed at themselves for getting tricked, and praised how smooth the whole thing looked. What started as an internal fun idea turned into a mini-viral moment in India’s digital marketing community.
