Theatres have finally welcomed us with open arms. It’s been a long time since we enjoyed the ‘theatrical experience’. We have a whole bunch of kickass movies hitting the big screens in Kerala. While Minnal Murali, Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham and Marakkar are big theatrical misses, there are a couple of other movies releasing soon. Here’s a list of every movie releasing this month in theatres in Kerala.
Annaatthe
Release Date: 4th November
Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie Annaatthe is his first collaboration with director Siva. It tells the story of a brother’s relationship with his sisters. Meena, Khushbu and Nayanthara will be starring alongside the megastar.
Enemy
Release Date: 4th November
Written and directed by Anand Shankar, the Tamil release Enemy stars Arya, Mirnalini and Vishal Krishna. The trailer of the movie didn’t reveal much about the movie. We’re left assuming that Vishal and Arya’s characters are friends turned enemies. One thing is sure, Vishal and Mirnalini Ravi’s characters are in a romantic relationship. The movie also features Mamta Mohandas, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran and Prakash Raj.
Sooryavanshi
Release Date: 5th November
Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty, is touted to be yet another cop story from Rohit’s cop universe. It has cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh so we know that a lot of whistles and dance numbers are going to be played out by fans. You don’t drugs to boost your adrenaline. Rather, watch this movie in the theatre and you’re set for the day (or a couple of hours).
Eternals
Release Date: 5th November
The Avengers need a break. Thus, the Eternals have come to take their place. They have secretly lived on Earth for over 7,000 years. Since the Deviants are back to attack Earth, they must unite to save lives.
Kurup
Release Date: 12th November
The biopic of an absconding criminal from Kerala, Sukumaran Kurup, has garnered everyone’s attention. This crime drama helmed by Dulquer Salmaan is one of the most-awaited Malayalam releases this year. Kurup also features Sobhita Dhulipala, Indrajith Sukumaran, Shine Tom Chacko, Sunny Wayne, Vijayaraghavan, P Balachandran, Surabhi Lakshmi and Sivajith Padmanabhan.
Dune
Release Date: 12th November
Paul Atreides has to travel to the most dangerous planet to rescue his family and people. Dune is one of the greatest sci-fi releases in 2021. It is based on Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name that was released in 1965. Fun fact: It has already been adapted into a movie and a TV series. But Dune is said to be the best of the lot.
Ellam Sheriyakum
Release Date: 19th November
Starring Asif Ali and Rajisha Vijayan, Ellam Sheriyakum is a family entertainer directed by Jibu Jacob.
Bheemante Vazhi
Release Date: 19th November
Bheemante Vazhi is yet another Malayalam release we’re looking forward to. It’s a comedy-drama film directed by Ashraf Hamza. His debut film was Thamaasha, in case you didn’t know. The movie stars Kunchacko Boban and Chinnu Chandni in the lead roles. It also has Chemban Vinod Jose, Jinu Joseph and Nirmal Palazhi.
Janeman
Release Date: 19th November
This movie is Chidambaram’s directorial debut, featuring Balu Varghese and Siddharth Menon. It’s a movie about a movie of a young, lonely man who has no inhibitions or adventures in life. Since it’s a family entertainer movie, we can expect a lot of chiri.
Maanaadu
Release Date: 25th November
Who doesn’t like a political fictional thriller? Maanaadu is different from the usual political thrillers as it has sci-fi elements. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film stars Simbu, SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Karunakaran and Premgi Amaren.
Kaaval
Release Date: 25th November
Suresh Gopi is back! Renji Panicker’s directorial ‘Kaaval is a story about a family. That’s all we know about the plot. From the looks of it, there’s a lot of mass-approved action that is likely to take place. WIth Suresh Gopi in the lead, the film also stars Padmaraj Ratheesh, Muthumani, Rachel David, Ivan Anil, Sadiqh, Kichu Tellus and Sankar Ramakrishnan.
Aaha
Release Date: 26th November
Vadamvali or Tug of war is a respected sport in Kerala. A movie based on this would only cheer the mass. Aaha is a sports flick featuring Indrajith, Ashwin Kumar, Amit Chakkalakkal, and Manoj K Jayan.
Sumesh & Ramesh
Release Date: 26th November
Directed by Sanoop Thykoodam, Sumersh & Ramesh stars the iconic new-gen duo, Sreenath Bhasi and Balu Varghese alongside Salim Kumar and Praveena. The film is a comical take on sibling rivalry. Every Malayali will relate to this movie.
