After giving us the firecracker hit Malabari Banger, Kerala’s genre-bending producer M.H.R and rapper JOKER390P are back with a track that’s as bold as it is nostalgic. Munthirichar is their latest drop, a celebration of confidence, swagger, and cultural pride. A powerful fusion of EDM, Arabic influences, and Mappilapattu nostalgia, the track is all about showing up, standing out, and being unapologetically you. Out now on all major streaming platforms, it’s a track that’ll make you want to dance, strut, and maybe even call your roots.
“I wanted Munthirichar to feel like a festival of sound,” says M.H.R, the producer behind the track’s vibrant pulse. “Something that makes you move but also connects with your roots.” He adds, “Mappilapattu was always playing at home when I was a kid. Those melodies just stayed with me. With this track, I took that nostalgia and flipped it into something fresh, where tradition meets the club.”
Behind the Beat – M.H.R’s Process
M.H.R is known for his tight production style, and Munthirichar is no exception. “I usually produce EDM beats, so I always start with the drop portion,” he explains. “When I hear certain songs, they just give me the mood to create. I love it when my beats are tight. Every instrument, every percussion, every element, even if it’s not heard in one listen, I just love to stack my layers up.”
JOKER390P’s Verse and Vision
The energy only levels up when JOKER390P hops on the track. Known for his dynamic and fearless lyrical style, he found the vibe of Munthirichar instantly inspiring. “M.H.R is always a comfortable producer for me, and he mostly has that Arabic, Middle Eastern kind of touch,” he says. “So it wasn’t too hard for me to write. My approach was to play the beat, freestyle on it, create a flow, and then fill in the story.”
What it Means to Work Together
Their creative partnership has grown over time. “At first, I used to just send him beats and see if he wanted to snap on them,” M.H.R recalls. “Later, we started working in the same space, and whenever I created a beat, Joker would just naturally fit in.”
While their previous collab Malabari Banger is still in fans’ playlists, M.H.R sees Munthirichar as something completely its own. “For me, both are entirely different tracks. I don’t think I implemented anything I learned from Malabari Banger into Munthirichar,” he says.
JOKER390P, when asked about the kind of stories he wants to tell through his music, keeps it real: “I’m usually a self-centered kind of writer who runs around my own thoughts and my kind of stories. But sometimes I get influenced by my surroundings too. I always like to write about life and people a lot. For Munthirichar, I wanted to capture that feeling of self-assurance and being in the limelight. It’s a track that makes you move and feel unstoppable.”

The Message Behind Munthirichar

And if you had to describe Munthirichar in just three words? Joker says: “Sharp, clean, and clear. But I’ll also say it’s completely an M.H.R’s feast.”
The energy in Munthirichar is in the mindset. This is a song that celebrates being seen, being loud, being you. And both artists resonate deeply with that.
“As an artist, even when I’m performing inside four walls all alone, for me, I am the spotlight,” says M.H.R. “When I listen to my tracks, it boosts a different kind of confidence inside me. Munthirichar is all about how I celebrate myself all these years.” JOKER390P adds with a smile, “I was being part of M.H.R’s celebration.”
This is a song that makes you move. Makes you feel seen. Munthirichar reminds you of one thing: Being yourself is the biggest flex.
And once you hit play, you’ll feel it too.
