One-year-old Abhinav and four-year-old Anirudh did not know they would die fatally at the hands of their own mother. Divya, the wife of Vinod, allegedly killed her sons on Children’s Day. After which, she tried to attempt suicide by swallowing sleeping pills and cutting her veins. Not only that, her husband’s grandmother, Amminiamma, also attempted suicide by cutting her veins.
According to official sources, Divya from Manjakandath in Palakkad district had trouble at home owing to domestic violence. This, however, is an assumption and yet to be proven. Her sons were found unconscious on the floor. They were immediately taken to the hospital nearby but they succumbed to their injuries.

An unnamed officer in the case, speaking to ANI, shared, “The mother seems to have lost her mind following a quarrel at home and killed the children. If a woman is taking such an extreme step in killing her 4 and 1-year-old boys, it means she has either lost her mind or she could not bear some domestic issues. Police are investigating all the aspects, including the reason for her husband’s grandmother also attempting suicide by cutting her vein.”
Divya is in a critical condition, while Amminiamma’s condition is stable. Currently, the Shornur police are investigating the case and in talks with Vinod.
