The winners of Kerala State Film Awards 2019-2020 was announced today. The jury, chaired by cinematographer-filmmaker Madhu Ambat, picked the winner from 119 movies. The screening of the movies started in mid-September and due to the pandemic, the jury was divided into small groups to watch in special screenings.
The Best Film award was given to Vasanthi. Lijo Jose Pellissery was awarded Best Director for Jallikattu, which had received quite a lot of critical acclaim.
Suraj Venjaramoodu received the Best Actor award for his performances in Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 and Vikrithi, while Kani Kusruti received Best Actor (Female) award for her performance in Biriyani.
Fahad Faasil and Swasika were awarded Best Character Actor awards for their performances in Kumbalangi Nights and Vasanthi, respectively.
